A great weekend for KGCC, with both 1st and 2nd teams winning on Saturday and the Sunday team winning too!

The 1st team played at home v Coleshill 2. Skipper Nick Patel ‘luckily’ lost the toss, which saved him having to make a decision, and KGCC were put into bat. Tommy Patel (60) and Andy Capstick (61) got us off to a fast start, before Johnny Patel gave the innings an added impetus, going on top score with 123. To inflict further pain, Nick Patel (63no) and Andy Irving (50no), kept up the scoring rate and KGCC amassed a record breaking 375 for 3 off 45 overs. Truly remarkable, with every batsman scoring more than 50.

To their credit, Coleshill started promisingly against an attacking field, with their openers striking out and riding their luck, before Tommy Patel came on and took 7 for 60, which proved to be a match winning performance, as we bowled Coleshill out for 249 in 48 overs.

The 2nd team recorded their first win if the season, against Amersham Hill 2, who beat them easily only a few weeks previously. Amersham batted first and were all out for 138, with N. Collison scoring 72no! Sandeep (3 for 27) and Samir (3 for 27) were the main wicket takers.

In reply, KGCC got to 139 for 8 with Dharaj and Michael Butcher (36) getting the highest scores.

The Sunday team, skippered by James (Growler) Crowther, also won. Batting first KGCC scored 219 all out, with Tommy Patel (85), Johnny Patel (44) and Ian Rundle (41) getting the bulk of the runs. We then bowled the oppo out for 194, with Jack Patel taking 4 wickets and James Crowther and (nice toe see) a Colt, Joe Harman, taking 2 each.

Well done to all 3 teams, and lets keep it going for the rest of the season.
