2016 was KGCC’s first season in the Chiltern League and it was successful one. our 1st Team, captained by Nick Patel, won Division 3 and will be promoted to Division 2 next season. Of their 16 matches, 11 were won, 2 lost and 3 abandoned due to weather. They finished 41 points ahead of the second placed team.

The team also posted the Highest Innings Score, with 375-4 against Penn and Tylers Green 2.

Individually there were some notable achievements.

Bowling.

Mike Widdowson was the Division’s Highest Wicket Taker, with 49 wickets, and also claimed the ‘Most Wickets in an Innings’ award with a 10-34 performance against Denham 2. Next highest club wicket takers were Tommy Patel, 20, and Ross Kemp (in his first KGCC season) with 20 also. Jonny Patel took a hat trick against The Lee.

Batting.

Johnny Patel was the team’s top run scorer with 499 from 11 innings.  Nick Patel scored 353 from 10 innings and Paul Millington 327 from 9 innings.

Catches

Julian Coppock took 7 (in 8 matches) followed by Mike Widdowson with 6 (in 16 matches)

Team spirit was very good, as one would expect from a winning team, and hopefully KGCC made a good and friendly impression in our first CL season
