Last years divison four winners- Hollyport 2’s vs the runners up- Knotty Green 2’s. On a damp wicket and humid day, Knotty lost the toss and were asked to bat first. After a slow start, both the openers started to find the middle of the bat; with an opening partnership of 68 runs. Nick Scott was out in the first over after drinks, for 26. This was followed by Parth Adhyaru in the next over for just one run. The innings needed to be rebuilt which was done by Arpit Shah and Logi Patel putting on a partnership of 109 runs, when Logi Patel was out for 45. Skipper Jack Patel joined Arpit at the crease adding a quick 33 partnership. When the skipper was out for fifteen runs, vice captain Colin Blunden joined in the run fest with a 20 not out. Arpit Shah finally was caught behind after scoring 133 runs, which was his second consecutive hundred, as the previous week he had scored 100 against Denham. The last man out was Michael Butcher playing his first game of the season with Kevin Butcher, his fourteen year old son, who clearly is the better cricketer! The Knotty innings was brought to a close by the captain declaring at 258 for six after 45 overs.
The Knotty opening pair of Scott Jackson and Dylan Mcleish (both under 15) bowled a very tight and steady line to the opening batsmen. The pressure on the opening pair finally told when A.Gadere was bowled by Jackson for 8. The opposition captain, who is the backbone of Hollyport batting, was next to go with Mcleish coming to the party having him caught at point by Jackson. Then it was the turn of the spin twins of Luke Patton and Jack Patel to try and get amongst the wickets. Jack finally got his first wickets of the  league season,  to continue the good work of the opening pair.  Then it was the turn of the new boys on the block Parth Adhyaru and Armpit Shah,  who bowled 12 overs between them, and picked up 6 wickets. Arpit Shah was man of the match performance scoring 133 runs and bowling 6 overs for 21 runs and 4 wickets. Overall a victory for Knotty Green by 98 runs.
