Captai Jack won the toss and elected to bat on what looked like a really good pitch for batting. Nick Scott and Armpit Shah started steadily, around 4 an over, before Nick was found sleeping at the non strikers end, and run out. This however was the cue for Arpit to go on the attack, finally falling for 64, containing 1 six and 10 fours.
The introduction of RV’s Akktar’s fast leg spin caused a few problems (Nick) and slowed down the run rate until Logy Patel got going with a swashbuckling 50.
After that, a few final lusty blows from Ian Rundle got KGCc 2 to 211 off their 47 overs with Akktar the pick of the RV bowlers with 3-34 from 15 overs.
In reply RV never really looked like mounting a serious challenge to the run total and it seemed just a question of whether KG could bowl them all out or not. There was some economical off spin from Jack Patel, 0-36 from 13 overs, and Luke Patton (2), Armpit Shah (2), Ian Rundle (1) and Parth Adhyary (1) shared the 8 wickets KG managed to take, culminating in a fine slip catch by the Chairman off the last ball of the match, to secure an extra bonus point.
RV ended on 159 for 8 and the match was drawn
