Another great weekend’s cricket for KGCC!! Once again, both teams recorded Saturday league wins and the first team match produced an absolutely outstanding individual performance. The first team were away to Denham 2 and on a difficult wicket, struggled to 124 all out, which was only obtained due to an excellent 44 from Andy Irving (finding some consistent form lately) and a quick 30 from Johnny Patel. However, despite this KGCC were 89 for 9 when Aaron Allison and Rohan Monsy joined together for the last wicket and managed to raise the score to 124.

This at least gave the bowlers something to defend and they certainly did it. Bowling unchanged, Mike Widdowson proceeded to take all 10 Denham wickets to end up with CLUB RECORD FIGURES of 12-1-34-10, a superb effort. it eclipsed the nine wicket haul his own father got many years ago, when Mike caught the last man out off the other bowler to deny his Dad 10 wickets!!!

This could put the 1st team top of the Division3, a great start to the season.

The 2nds also won against Great Kingshill 2. Although we took 9 wickets in 47 overs and restricted them to 192, our bowling was not as good as it should be and we conceded 50 extras in their total. However some strong batting, particularly from Vishal Patel, Michael Butcher and Jack Patel got us home, and should see the seconds climb also from their current 5th place in the league
