2017 was KGCC’s second season in the Morrants Chiltern league. The 1st team, having been promoted from Div 3 to Div 2 the previous season, were looking to consolidate and achieved this by finishing 5th in a division of 10 teams. Captained by Nick Patel, they managed 7 wins, 3 draws, 6 losses, with 2 abandoned due to weather. Overall a satisfactory season.
There were some notable performances, and some less notable. We managed the 2nd highest team score of 355 for 6 against Coleshill, but also the lowest, al out for 48 against Ley Hill.
Once again Mike Widdowson was the highest wicket taker with 35 at 14.71 runs per wicket and a best of 5-59. Second was Ross Kemp, who took 23 wickets at 26.74, with a best of 5-65
and third was Tommy Patel, who took 14 wickets at 31.71, with a best of 4-21
Highest run scorer was Tommy Patel with 440 runs, averaging 31.43 and a top score of 114. Scoring slightly less but with a higher average was his brother Johnny Patel, who scored 433 at an average of 43.30 and a top score of 140. Third in batting was Mike Widdowson, who scored 274 runs at 27.40 with a top score of 68
Wicketkeeper Dharak Pandya took 6 dismissals. while Tommy Patel took 7 catches
